‘Baby Driver’ actor Hudson Meek falls from moving vehicle, dies

Hudson Meek, the 16-year-old actor known for his role in “Baby Driver,” died after he fell from a moving vehicle.

Meek died on Sunday in Alabama.

Variety reported that a post on his Instagram account said, “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”

WVTM reported Meek had blunt force trauma after falling from the vehicle on Dec. 19. He was taken to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be live streamed on Saturday.

According to his obituary, Meek was born on Aug. 5, 2008. He attended Vestavia Hills High School and was a member of the school’s football team. He was also a part of the school’s honor choir, the SGA and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was a certified open water scuba diver, earning the certification at the age of 14, and then, at 14, he was certified for advanced open water scuba.

Meek appeared in about a dozen and a half movies and television shows over his decade-long career, according to IMDB. His most notable role was in “Baby Driver” playing the younger version of Ansel Elgort’s role of Baby.

Meek leaves behind his parents, brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
