STONE SOUR
Roadrunner Records originally scheduled the release of Stone Sours debut album for mid-September, but singer Corey Taylor explains why it was moved up and released this past Tuesday:
COREY: It was done ahead of schedule, all the mixes were in and we had approved all the artwork. I mean, they were just like, if its done and people want to hear it and theres a lot of response for it, we need to get this thing out. I think that was basically it. I mean, there was no need to get it out like immediately, but it was still good to know that they believed in it so much, that they were actually willing to push it up to August 27th.
Stone Sour features Jim Root and Corey Taylor from Slipknot, which was the band they were involved with before joining Slipknot. You can currently hear the single Bother on KISS.

The Cooper Owen auction house expects the guitar to earn between $534,000 and $610,000.

3 DOORS DOWN
3 Doors Down have been hired by the U.S. Navy to perform for overseas troops at 6 different naval bases including an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean Sea. Singer Brad Arnold wants to go flying when he gets aboard the aircraft carrier and do just 3 things: go straight up, go straight down and do a barrel roll.
The 3DD singer says the troops will hear one song that will not be featured on their forthcoming album titled Away From The Sun, which is due November 12th. The song Not Be Forgotten was inspired by the events of September11th and Arnold says it will not be on the album because he doesnt want fans to misinterpret the lyrics and instigate violence against U.S. citizens of Middle Eastern descent.

The ownership will remain in the hands of Atlantic Records because the copyright office says the album was made as a work for hire under a law that preceded the 1976 Copyright Act. The surviving members of Led Zeppelin and family members representing John Bonham will now have to fight with Atlantic Records directly for ownership issues. Houses of the Holy has sold over 11 million copies to date.

According to a published concert review and the bands website, one Papa Roach fan has taken her love for the band down a completely different road. Dear Messrs. Tipton, Downing, Hill, Travis, and Owens,
I'm enclosing a picture of myself at last week's 62nd Annual Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, S.D., so you can see what's going on. Obviously, you have many fans here at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). That's why, on behalf of our more than 750,000 members and supporters worldwide, we're asking if you'll consider using your mettle-and your metal-to riff against animal abuse. We've done our market research, and we're serious when we say that headbangers with a heart would love to hear you update the lyrics of your song "Hell Bent for Leather" to "Hell Bent for Pleather".
With so many rocking alternatives to leather, even the baddest men on two wheels know that animals don't belong in a "Killing Machine"-kicked in the face, forced down the ramp with an electric prod to the man who slits their throats and turns them into leather jackets, pants, and boots. Much of the leather sold in the U.S. comes from overseas, where we've videotaped cows being violently beaten and suffering from wounds and broken bones from extreme overcrowding in transport trucks. Did you know that dog skin from countries where dogs are eaten for food is marked "cowhide" for Western export purposes? And an investigation into one of the good old U.S.A.'s largest slaughterhouses showed cows being trampled, dragged, rammed in the mouth with electric shock prods, and dismembered, all while fully conscious. I'm enclosing that footage.
The wide selection of synthetic leather gear now available-see PleatherYourself.com-means that today's "rebels with a cause" won't have any trouble keeping skins off their shins.
Animals don't have a voice, so they can't be "Screaming for Vengeance", which is why we ask that as you finish up your current tour, you leave the hides behind and encourage your legions of fans to get "Hell Bent for Pleather" from now on. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information. Thank you for your time and attention. I hope to hear from you soon.
Very truly yours,
Lisa Franzetta, Coordinator

JERRY CANTRELL
Jerry Cantrells comments from an interview about file-swapping on the internet:
"I don't really think the Internet is a great thing for music, and it certainly isn't for artists, maybe for artists that are up-and-coming or whatever that don't have a record deal to get your music out there it's great, but once you worked your whole damn life to create this business for yourself, to have people be able to buy one of your records and put it on the computer for free and everybody can just get that instead of your own record, that's revenue lost to you. And you put years and years of your life into this and that's something that's really disgusting to me. It's just a new-fangled way to get ripped off, and it seems this business is real conducive to that."
Cantrells comments on live bootlegs:
"Being ripped...You can put it out however you want to, a butt-f**k is a butt-f**k, you know, and that's basically what you're getting (laughs). It doesn't matter if whether you're lubed or not. That's basically the only difference. Sometimes you get kissed and lubed, other times you don't. You just bend over and take it. You fight back and take it back for yourself wherever you can, you know?"
