ROB ZOMBIE INTERVIEW

Thursday morning I talked with Rob Zombie about "The Devil's Rejects" and Ozzfest. You can listen to the unedited interview.

In continuation of yesterday's Rock Report, Zombie says his 3rd solo effort, which is due around Christmas, will be sonically different.

ZOMBIE: "The biggest difference is that I wanted to make a record that didn't use any sort of technology, whatsoever. So, it's a very old sounding, raw record. As opposed to the other records that are pretty slick..."

CHUCK: "Yea, because you use programming and other stuff..."

ZOMBIE: "yea, there's none of that in the new thing."

Rob Zombie is headlining the 2nd stage of Ozzfest, which stops in San Antonio on August 28th at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.

Zombie's movie "The Devil's Rejects" is playing in theaters now.

FOO FIGHTERS

The Foo Fighter's follow-up song to "Best of You" is "D.O.A." and the band has finished filming the video. Here's an excerpt of the article on how the clip was made:

In the clip, the Foos are strapped inside a room that rotates clockwise and counter-clockwise, with a stationary camera capturing the action. As "D.O.A." progresses, the room begins a 360-degree rotation while the Foos perform the song. The idea, Palmieri said, is to create the illusion that during the course of the song, the room completes one full rotation.

"Halfway through the song, they're completely upside down. The whole video goes one 360-degree rotation ... and at the end ... it's back to zero," he explained. "So when you're watching the video, it's slowly turning upside down on you. You'll see the band, and the camera is locked, but their hair is sideways, at a 90-degree angle, which shows that it's the first minute of the video mark. It's pretty much the most confusing video idea ever."

The Foo Fighters, Weezer and the Kaiser Cheifs will play the Frank Erwin Center in Austin on September 14th. Tickets are on sale at Austin-area Texas Box Office outlets.
