CHEVELLE

Chevelle's forthcoming effort "This Type of Thinking Could Do Us In" will be out September 21st and singer Pete Loeffler explains the album title.

PETE: "It's just kind of poking fun at close-minded people. You know, you stay too long in one area and you look at things in one way too long... and you don't get out of that box or whatever, you know. So you know, it's just kind of a warning."

METALLICA BOOK PREVIEW

You can preview Metallica's first official book at Metallica.com . "So What: The Good, The Mad and The Ugly" will hit bookshelves August 17th.

KORN

Korn singer Jonathan Davis says October 11th is the release date for Korn's greatest hits collection. Davis says the band recorded several cover songs, but the band has not decided on the final track listing. The covers include Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall", Public Enemy's "Fight the Power", Nine Inch Nails' "Head Like a Hole" (featuring Chester Bennington) and Faith No More's "We Care A Lot".

Papa Roach vocalist Jacoby Shaddix says the new album is less influenced by rap music than their debut "Infest".

SHADDIX: "Vocally I'm singing and screaming on this record you know and it's just the direction I was going as an artist and as a singer. I kinda just got jaded on hip hop in general and I was like, 'I'm a rocker, dude.' That's what I am, that's what I was when I was a kid, and it just kinda seemed like that's where this band was going and we're really happy with the direction the band has taken."
