ALICE IN CHAINS
I didn't think I'd ever have a chance to say this on the Rock Report, but Alice in Chains is back in the studio recording a new album. Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez, and Sean Kinney have joined new Alice in Chains singer, William Duvall in a Los Angeles recording studio to work on ideas for the next Alice In Chains album, which will be their first studio album since 1995's self-titled release.
SYSTEM OF A DOWN
System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian says his solo debut album is doing very well. The singer says the album is very homemade, both figuratively and literally since it was recorded in his own Los Angeles studio.
"It's a rock record, but it's pretty progressive. It's very wide sounding lots of different sounding instruments. The excitement I had making this record was the same excitement I had making the first System record."
Tankian played most of the instruments on the album and is now ready for the album to be mixed, which he is debating about doing himself. The album is expected to be released this Fall.
