DEFTONES

Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno talked with Britain's BBC Radio 1 and said the new Deftones album will be out this fall. Moreno says he has about another week and a half of recording vocal tracks.

The Deftones also plan to issue a 10th anniversary CD/DVD collection this summer with b-sides and rare tracks.

SLIPKNOT'S CHRIS FEHN

Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn told the "Beloit Daily News" Slipknot will never remove their masks, like Kiss abandoning their make-up.

"It was just something cool to do," said Fehn, who wears a yellowish-black, skeleton mask outfitted with a pointy Pinocchio nose. "When I first got it, I cut it up and sewed the straps onto the back. It definitely doesn't look anything like it originally did.

"It's a blessing that we don't get recognized. I don't know what it's like to be sitting in a McDonald's with people staring at me. Sometimes it's confusing. I think, 'I'm that guy. Why don't people know me?' But it's nice because I don't have to worry about being at Best Buy, having somebody take a picture of me and, all of a sudden, it's all over the Internet."

TAPROOT

Taproot have titled their forthcoming album "Blue-Sky Research" and it's scheduled to be out August 16th.

Taproot's last album "Welcome" was released in 2002 and featured the song "Poem".
