 Nickelback I was a fan of these guys when most of America didn't know or care about how they got their name (inspired by working at Starbucks and constantly having to say, "Here's your Nickelback.") Plus, it didn't hurt that the first time I met them I had just come back from a trip to their home town of Vancouver. They had been on the road a long time, so my early appreciation has lead to a beautiful friendship. There are people for who Nickelback doesn't "kick-ass" enough for their tastes. However, I am here to testify that they can really rock when the want to, and in concert they do. But Chad does have a knack for spewing lyrics with that special surpy element that make chicks ooze. It's hard to ride Chad too much about his female-friendly lyrics. Any guy who can HELP YOU score through your ability to appreciate his "sensitive lyrics" is worth our respect. Nickelback is a testimony to a culture that produces rock stars who don't act like rock stars (there is a lower ass-hole element with Canadian musicians and athletes than any other country producing either...really.) Ryan Peake is one of the most regular guys you'll ever meet in your life. He's the electrified ying to Chad's sometimes {see above comment} lyrical yang. These guys are GOOD! And they are going to be around for a long time. |
