 Dave Draiman of Disturbed Can this guy pontificate! An why not? He's one of the most intelligent people in Rock and Roll today. Dave Draimen is easily among my top-5 favorite interviewees. He's never at a shortage of quality material, and even when tired can pull out interesting answers for the deepest, or the fluffiest questions. And that's another thing. Sometimes intellectuals are put off by having some fun at their expense. Not Dave, he's got a good sense of humor to go with that dark wit. If there is ever another national morality debate by a Religious fanatical group vs. Rock 'N' Roll, this guy is Captain of MY debate team. He's got a memory too so watch yourself around this guy. I was in Los Angeles for a convention that featured hearing a preview of the entire "Believe" album. Let's just say out of a room of 100 I was one of the very few sober people in the room (when Radio people get together with an open bar they can tend to get a little carried away, figuratively and literally!) One year later Dave remembered that fact and showed appreciation for my priority in hearing their music instead of getting bombed with my colleagues at 5 in the afternoon. Hey, I like free booze as much as the next guy, but this was a chance to hear the new album WITH THE BAND! How cool is that? Besides, I hit the hotel bar AFTER so don't take away my guy license. |
