In my opinion:
In my opinion music has always been and will always be subjective. I've never believed that radio validates good music.

My favorite bands:
In no particular order: The Tea Party, Metallica, Mudvayne, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, Static-X, Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, Union Underground, Godsmack, Marilyn Manson and Korn.

Traditional Jazz:
John Coltrane.

My Wife Makes Me Listen To:
Dave Matthews Band
and artists that don't use power chords or growl.

Band Interviews:
I am proud to say I've interviewed all 4 members of Metallica, including Jason Newsted in 1998. Basically, I've caught my white whale.

Guitar gods:
Eddie Van Halen, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Monte Montgomery, Tom Morello, Zakk Wylde, Kirk Hammet and James Hetfield.

MY OTHER PASSION: FOOD

I love to Barbecue. I have an Oklahoma Joe's smoker pit and often invite friends to the house to eat ribs, brisket, sausage and other forms of bar-b-q dead animal.

I use my own rubs and look forward to smoking a brisket or pork shoulder for 18 hours. 8 hour ribs are worth every little bite.

I just love to cook and I enjoy learning about different people's cooking techniques.

THE FOOD NETWORK

I know the programming schedule better than some of the radio stations I work for. I watch, record, take notes and then make my own in the kitchen.

USELESS FACTS

My office studio is decorated with cartoon action figures and pictures drawn by my 5 nieces and nephews.

My MP3 collection is approaching 26 GB.

March 25, 2005 marks 10 years of service to 99.5 KISS.

I'm trying to learn to speak Italian.

The Cartoon Network is my other favorite channel: Scooby-Doo, Family Guy and Spongebob Squarepants.

Willie's Restaurant on 281 is one of my favorites.

Piatti's in the Quarry makes a great Panini with garlic parmesan fries and a fantastic authentic Italian brick-oven pizza.

Piatti's Pastry Chef (Chris K.) is a chocala-holic God.

My other favorite San Antonio Chef is Lee Guererro. (I'm not sure which restaurant he's helping build at the moment.)

* While maintaining a studio inside 99.5 KISS, my work has been heard in Norwalk, CT., Birmingham, AL., Tulsa, OK., Midland, TX. And Miami, FL.

I've had the privilege of visiting Canada, Mexico, England, France, Germany and Greece. (Italy is coming)

In my wedding, my groomsmen and I marched from the dressing room to the Pastor to the sounds of "The Imperial March" (yes, Darth Vader's theme).

One day I hope to open a restaurant.
