This month totally screams one thing at me: Get OUT! Get outside that is- We’ve got to admit it we’ve officially hit spring and that is when I hit the outdoor patio’s and soak up some early sun with a cold drink in hand. Yea, I know Rock and Roll, but let’s concentrate on the roll part- stomach roll that is! Here are some of my favorites:

Perfect Patios

• IVY Rooftop (4553 N Loop 1604 W)
  Rooftop bar and lounge. Location: Lockhill Selma and 1604 @ The Ridge
• La Tuna-Grill (100 Probandt)
  Cold beer and price is perfect for their cold one and plenty of outdoor spots to sit.
• Tong's Thai Restaurant (1146 Austin Highway)
  Hit the patio at Tongs Thai Restaurant. Thai, Chinese and Sushi all in one little spot, try the hot and sour soup! The patio is cool, yes, I know you are overlooking Austin Highway but it’s perfect for a Sapporo, Kirin Ichiban or Bubble Drink.
• Cappyccino's (5003 Broadway)
  Beside Cappy’s place and tucked in the back of the bar is one of the best patio’s off Broadway. Fan’s provide a cool breeze if you need it and the homemade potato chips are perfect with any draft beer.
• V-Bar- Hotel Valencia Downtown (150 E Houston St)
  You may pay a little more for a cocktail but just enjoy one outside on the patio, it’s a corner of the the Riverwalk that is not crazy with tourists.
• Blue Star Brewing Company (1414 S Alamo St)
  Classic patio, start here and then cross the tracks to La Tuna, not really a patio but always a good time.
• Out of Town- Gruene River Grill (1259 Gruene Rd)
  Watch the lazy river on one of the most perfect patios in Gruene. Most of you think the Grist Mill when headed to Gruene, change it up and try this place, and when they say JUMBO salads, they mean it.

Drink! OK

• Houlihan's (14601 Interstate 35 N)
  With a happy hour every day (1/2 price drafts, Texas Teas and bottles of wine if you sit at the bar) you'll catch a good buzz that won’t bust your wallet. Great selection of tapas (perfectly priced too!) . Also ½ priced appetizers you can find me on the patio of the newest location of 35 South and 1604
• 29 Restaurant & Wine Bar (255 E Basse Rd)
  Bottle of red? Bottle of white? They got them all! Go take a flight.
• Silo (1133 Austin Hwy)
  Best bet for Happy Hour. I hit the one on Austin Hwy or you can check out the new one on 1604- either way the best prices for some good food and drinks for happy hour – daily starting at 4- certain wines- 5 bucks a glass and try their appetizer sized entrees for just 5 bucks also. Two glasses of wine a couple apps and you’ve got a great cheep date!
• Red Red Wine (3709 N Saint Marys St)
  Have you hit the wine bar behind Augie’s Barbed Wire Smokehouse? Great patio overlooking Breckenridge Park, unwind and be kind to your pallet. Perfect place for the before drink for any Sunken Garden event.
• El Jarro de Arturo Mexican Restaurant (13421 US HWY 281 N)
  Two’s the limit and after that I only have two questions: "who’s driving?" and "am I still smiling?" ( I can’t tell my face it numb) Try the signature Margarita de Arturo – KNOCK you on your ASS great.
