Foo Fighters taped an episode of the VH1 performance program Storytellers last Wednesday night (October 28th) at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, according to FMQB. The show will premiere on Friday, November 27th at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. The hour-long, 13-song performance will feature a collection of the band's biggest hits, as well as the new track "Wheels," along with stories behind the tunes and insights from the band members into what inspired the music.
According to Reuters, the show closes with the band's signature track, "Everlong," about which frontman Dave Grohl says, "I honestly think that if it weren't for this song we probably wouldn't still be here because it opened up so many doors for us, melodically, dynamically."
Being in the Foo Fighters all these years has opened many musical doors for its members, as drummer Taylor Hawkins told us:] "We call it the Foo Fighters rock and roll fantasy camp, 'cause after Dave has been doing the thing with John Paul Jones, and I've done things with Queen, got to do a Dennis Wilson thing, got to jam with (Yes bassist) Chris Squire, Rush, it's like we just get to all kind of all fulfill a lot of our sort of rock and roll fantasies playing with these people, you know. And it's really amazing and really cool."
The band showed a webcast concert from its Los Angeles recording and rehearsal studio via Facebook on Friday night (October 30th).
Foo Fighters releases its first greatest hits collection on Tuesday (November 3rd). The set features the new songs "Wheels" and "Word Forward." -therockradio.com
